Small colleges may want you. More successful D1 schools may want you to either walk on or have a small (SMALL) scholarship. But running a 49 will not fill your mailbox with D1 scholarship offers. Let alone full scholarships. That doesn't diminish the time at all, to be clear. But 49 is fairly elite in high school, but rather pedestrian at the D1 college leve.

True, a legit 49 won't get you a full or even half ride at LSU, but it will get you on the team for sure, especially if you are willing to work hard and have room to improve.
Disclaimer, I wasn't able to do it, but its almost easier in college to go from a 50 second guy to get to a sub 48 than it is for a 47 to go to a sub 46. That jump to going 45.XX isn't easy for all but the elite guys.
