Have you guys read up on this guy?
Do you think he had enough pull to be blamed for the flash crash back in 2010?
Pretty damn cool story nonetheless. Says he made 40 million in his mom's basement using a mouse and a couple screens.

Well he's back in his mom's basement out on bail and apparently he hid a bunch of his money.
Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.
He seems like a bit of a patsy to me..

These charges smell like 8 day old greens.
For any of you who are interested in the subject of HFT and spoofing, there is a great discussion ongoing in the comments at Macro Man blogspot.

I don't know. It just seems rather odd how it's only the smaller fish that get hooked most of the time. If he had been a Goldman or a JPM boy, the firm would probably just have to pay a fine (with shareholder money) and we'd probably never even know his name.
From what little I've read about this guy, he had a steely nerve and big brass attachments. He was apparently one heck of a mad man trader - maybe a bit too mad though. So if he did wrong, then he did wrong. But kinda like Jesse James... or Michael Milken, it's hard to look at truly ballsy people without some amount of "dang, you da man!" reaction.
