Noah is the most grossly underrated movie on IMDB

5.9? Seriously, people?
I believe that if no one knew of the biblical Noah story this would be in the low 8's, at least. If you couldn't be non-emotional and thus unoffended about artistic license then you really should have reserved your vote, or stayed away altogether.
I, personally, could not have been more hooked even if I had known nothing of the traditional story. If that had been the case I would have been mesmerized by the family's plight and eager to learn their fate, but as it stood I was captivated by the changes, some subtle, and the embellishments, some grandiose, to the familiar tale.
The acting was good, the CGI was serviceable, the cinematography was grand, the mood was appropriate, the action was exciting, the lessons were satisfactorily rendered. What's there to hate, except that it didn't match your preconceptions about what it should have been?
I had the good fortune of watching Noah as my first movie after Interstellar, and I recommend doing so in that fashion, because as each deals with mankind's escape from a poisoned world many of their themes and lessons can be compared and contrasted. I remembered, for example, Dr. Mann's discourse on family and survival as Noah was making his own most important decision.
Hooray for Noah the movie, and boo on you.

Movie fricking blows.
This made me chuckle after reading Rex's passionate plea.

Are you coming down with dementia? Honestly, I hope not. But that's the most likely explanation for the last few posts of yours that I've seen.

Movie is so bad. So bad.
Why? Were you expecting something with unassailable science? Or something that impeccably adheres to Genesis?

No way he can be serious.
The film is so bad that it should rock anyone's faith, in the fact that god allowed this POS to be made on a world he created.

I was not hampered by faith while appreciating the movie.

You had no point except to be insulting, while betraying your reason for calling it bad.

The point is that it's not a good film. The point is that of alklk the bad things on this world, that would be considered offensive to God's story, would sarcastically be this film. It's an abomination to an already crazy story. It's not insulting. It's rated that low for a reason.
For you to actually defend it, shows your true level of credibility when it comes to film. I'm sure you did enjoy it.

I don't care that it was offensive or not to "God's story". You missed the point of my OP entirely while also serving as an example why the film's rating is unfairly low. Has nothing to do with the quality of the movie, itself, but with your own bias.

Once again you missed It. Enjoy your night man.

Couldn't even make it half way through

You must get paid by the down vote.

As I read the negative reviews on IMDB they're upset that the story:
- is not true to the Bible account. (I say most of it IS Bible-based, including the rock giants, but the Bible story is very sparse and far too familiar to make a compelling movie. The point here was to make a more interesting allegory than what's contained in the Bible, and it succeeds.)
- Noah's character is inconsistent. (I say that's what happens with humans who are tasked with something unprecedented and terrifying, and thus conflicted. Crowe was very good.)
- Rock monsters, really? (I say they were more convincing and interesting than the computer robots in Interstellar. And this is ALLEGORY, remember. Do these same people object to monsters in Lord of the Rings?)
I say one of the best movies of 2014.

Well now I kinda want to see it.

Wait...rock monsters?
These things come to life and help Noah build the ark, and defend it.
Yeah..

It's rated low for religious reasons, obviously. People went in expecting some account glorifying the Bible and got something different. Unfair to call it "Noah" is one repeated criticism I see.
