Other than the heavy handed "Don, your life sucks" moments, I have no idea what direction this show is going. It's almost like it's going to end as a show that was always and only about people going to work.
I mean, at this point if Don commits suicide, would anyone but Peggy even notice?
Exactly. All of the characters seemed together at the break. Now, they couldn't be further apart. It feels like they couldn't get them all on the set most days, so they just shot random shite.

The last 2 seasons were probably my favorite, or rather last 1.5 seasons. But they seemed to be building up to something. This show has always seemed to give us some progress, first with Don rising to partner, then they were taken over, then they left to start their own firm, then they struggled to survive as a company, then they merged with a major competitor, then Don was suspended, then Don had to fight and claw his way back to where he was, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, then they were acquired by a larger company.
So now Don is a partner with no fear of getting fired and the company is a subsidiary of a giant parent with no fear of going under. All of the conflict is gone. Now they are just treading water and we are all trying to figure out where in the hell this show is leading to for the conclusion. Every past season seemed to build up to something. Maybe it will be obvious in hindsight, but each episode this season seems very disjointed with no cohesive plot line.
