THIS. You had a QB last ye that lacked touch. Whether it was a swing pass to the flat or dropping a ball behind LB'ers and in front of the safeties, he was inept. 5-10 yd outs and heaving a desperation bomb were his strong suits. NO OC or HC will dial up running seam passes from a QB that has an issue floating mid range throws. Aside from CB's jumping an out route, I can't think of a better recipe for a pick six than a safety catching an overthrow as he closes on a TE.

I call BS.

Cam Cameron made Dennis Pitta a star with the Ravens. I was all excited we would finally utilize the TE position in the Les Miles era, even if it was solely to keep defenses honest from double teaming wideouts with a safety.

But even with a more than competent passer in Mettenberger, they still forced targets to OBJ and Landry despite triple coverage at times, and threw to the TE's about as often as this past year, which is hardly at all.

We've had talent at the TE position throughout the Les Miles era, and for some mind-boggling reason, they have been practically non-existent, even when we've had a competent QB.
