quote:because Simmons can create off dribble and do work down low. You want ball in his hands, and post would be a disservice to his skill set.
But can you explain why you want Ben Simmons on the wing as opposed to the post?

Where Ben Simmons plays doesnt matter one bit. Whether he's at thr 1 or 5 he's doing the exact same thing, point forward.
Where he starts between the 3 and 4 is completely trivial.

I agree he can create off the dribble for his size, well or any size. But his athleticism, height/weight, and ability to to be 50%+ from 14ft and in is what makes it such.
Its not about it being a disservice, its about winning games and we will need him more so on the glass and closer to the basket, than the wing. He is that good it does not matter. But I see things like this or people complaining our offensive sets are too simple. Why does it have to be complicated, JOB3, Martin, Mickey, and now Simmons, dont need complex offensive sets to be effective. Create triangles or diamonds on the floor and feed them the ball when we are not in transition. I know this is going beyond what you said or wanted but how I feel and the justification for leaving Ben in a role where he can be most effective and help the team.
He would be effective in any "position" or role but where would he be more effective. Catching the ball on the perimeter with isolations to one side or catching it 12-14 feet and in situations that are both turn and face, as well as back to the basket.
