Check out Graigs List, also look in the little Money Saver/Penny Saver type circulation's.
When I go(not with the wife), I usually carry a few $20s. If I find a good score which is several hundreds (which is rare), I will usually put a deposit on it and run to the ATM to getthe cash to purchase the item.
If I see something that I want but its seems over-priced, I will nicely ask soemthing like 'is that the best price?'
Sometimes they will not go down, sometimes they will.
The of the main reason people have garage sales is to get rid of stuff they no longer want or need.
