Snyder is using some of The Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller's 4 issue mini-series) story for this movie. And looking at the bat symbol & armored suit Bruce is wearing, it seems true. Batman beats Superman in that comic (and they made it into a two part movie, which I enjoy) with help from Robin & Green Arrow.

Aside from the fact this comic book story, being fairly recent and a huge outlier, is functionally asinine...I'd like to add to who beat Superman from this story.

1. Ronald Reagan, yes...the POTUS is in this story. He used and abused Superman getting him involved in a nuclear war.
2. Repeated nuclear warhead explosions to the face. This "weakens" Superman almost to death - which is stupid by the way.
3. Superman's reluctance to simply crush Batman. It was clear he was holding back.
4. Robin and Green Arrow. They stepped in to help batman. Green Arrow shot Superman in the back with a kryptonite arrow.
5. After all this, Batman barely "beats" Superman in an obnoxious suit - which I have to wonder now, since Wayne effectively becomes Iron Man here - why he doesn't wear this robotic suit ALL THE TIME.

Superman died the death of a thousand cuts in this story - stupid cuts I might add.

But somehow BATMAN gets the credit for beating superman as if it was simply Batman vs. Superman.

If this movie goes this route, it's going to look really stupid in live action.
