"Uncivil"? This bordered on a riot.
You know how I know this isn't happening? Because if a black person just gets a headache in the general vicinity of a white person, it is international news for weeks/months. (I'm exaggerating, but only slightly so.)
Now, does this mean that every group of black kids is going out and doing this? No. Of course not. But what is disturbing is that these kids were not riled up at a protest. They're not expelled, gangbangers beefing over turf. This was just a relatively normal looking group of kids that exploded into violence because an adult was trying to exercise just a smidgeon of supervision (a black adult, I might add).
And it is a shame we cannot just talk about this as yet another symptom of this broader problem. It has to divide us along racial lines, as opposed to simple, old-fashioned notions of right and wrong.
