quote:well that's 34 (and you're stretching). +/- 15 players is right at 20 and 50...also after bringing up Grant Hill, implying he was better than Scottie, he doesn't make your list.
Im saying 40ish range. Closer to 50, not exactly 50.
quote:
just go off the list above. he was prob 10 or 11th. not 2nd
There is not 10 guys off that list that were better between 91-98**
quote:
1 jordan
2 lebron
3 shaq
4 wilt
5 kareem
6 magic
7 bird
8 russell
9 malone
10 barkley
11 Admiral
12 Dr J
13 moses malone
14 bob petit
15 jerry west
16 john havlicek
17 elvin hayes
18 hakeem
19 pistol pete
20 oscar robertson
21 rick barry
22 dwyane Wade
23 durant
24 john stockton
25 kevin mchale
26 kobe
27 elgin baylor
28 duncan
29 kevin garnett
30 clydy drexler
31 isiah thomas
32 george mikan
33 patrick ewing
34Dirk
Bird,Magic and Isiah weren't better than Pippen between 91-98 (and all three were gone by 94).

During the 1992 Olympics, Chuck Daly called Scottie his second-best player, describing him as the ultimate 'fill-in-the-blanks guy.' That's right-Bill Simmons
Wade isn't better than Pippen. KG isn't better than Pippen.Durant, at this point, isn't better than Pippen. Same thing with Pistol,Hayes,Baylor and Ewing.
Going off your list, he's in the 15-20 range.
but back to the 91-98 era- the top 15 players of that time.Fun Fact-Malone,Robinson and Pippen tied for the most ALL NBA appearances with 7 in that time-span
Jordan
Hakeem
Pippen
Barkley
Shaq
Payton
Stockton
Malone
The Admiral
Ewing
Grant Hill
Penny Hardaway
Drexler
Nique
Price/KJ
are roughly the top 15 players of that time.

prime Grant Hill > Pippen
carrer Grant Hill < Pippen
Career Grant Hill doesnt make my all time 50.

well that's 34 (and you're stretching). +/- 15 players is right at 20 and 50.
Naw, I could have stretched it to 40 like i originally said, but after typing it out these were the 34 i thought for sure were better than Pippen.
quote:
Wade isn't better than Pippen.
Wade: 24ppg 6ast 5 rebs 49FG% 25.1 PER career
Pippen: 16ppg 6ast 5 rebs 47% FG 18.6 PER career
DWade is a top 5 SG of all time. His greatness is so underrated.
quote:
KG isn't better than Pippen.D
Garnett is better by just about any measure that you can come up with. PER, win shares, defensive win shares. Whatever you want to compare them with.
Top 5 PF of all time.
quote:
.Durant, at this point, isn't better than Pippen.
Durant is a 4x scoring champ and he is only 26.
Outside of defense and passing, there isn't anything Pippen can do that is close to Durant.

"fill in the blanks guy" is the definition of an ultimate role player. Because of his versatility he very well might have been the 2nd most important piece to the coach.
now 2nd best player? naw.
within 5 years pre/post 92' Olympics, Jordan, Malone, Adrmiral, Barkley, & Magic all won NBA MVP awards. Magic and Jordan winning multiple.

n Fact-Malone,Robinson and Pippen tied for the most ALL NBA appearances with 7 in that time-span
there was a lull of SF's during that period, so he was always the clear choice, esp given his team's success.
quote:
Jordan
Hakeem
Pippen
Barkley
Shaq
Payton
Stockton
Malone
The Admiral
Ewing
Grant Hill
Penny Hardaway
Drexler
Nique
Price/KJ
forgot about Wilkins.
That's 11 guys right there I like over Pippen.
