Thanks to the defense and special teams... Remember that LSU had ZERO 1st downs in the 1st half of the SECCG. And could NOT cross the 50 yard line in the most important game he ever started.... But OK JJ was great.............

2012: Zach Mettenberger - 10 wins 2013: Zach Mettenberger - 10 wins

Finally a pro-style QB that can run the offense Miles desires... A drop back passer and a great running game....

No one is saying he is great.

. Tied for fifth in LSU history for career TD passes with 34, equaling Jamie Howard (1992-95) ... Is sixth in LSU history in career passing yards (4,733), sixth in completion percentage (58.7), sixth in career completions (398) and sixth in attempts (678) ... Accounted for 46 TDs during his career - 34 passing, 12 rushing ... Rushed for 1,018 yards and 12 touchdowns during his LSU career ... The 1,018 rushing yards ranks first among quarterbacks in school history and the 12 rushing TDs is fifth by a QB ... Holds the LSU single-season rushing record for a quarterback with 450 yards during the 2010 season.

You don't accomplish the above stats at a top 15 alltime program and suck your entire career.

And yet, all four QBs played well enough to win 11 games. Isn't that what you were asking for?

LSU went 8-5 last year with talent that most teams and coaches would dream of....

After the huge early departures on the defensive side of the ball in the 2013 NFL Draft, and then the huge early departures on the offensive side of the ball in the 2014 NFL Draft…. our roster was embarrassingly thin.
