I guess the main results I'm focusing on are conditioning and muscle tone. Bulking up isn't my goal, but I do see how it's easier to gain muscle first then trim down second. I may decide to swim instead because it worked in the past, and is easier on the body.

if you control every little aspect of your diet, you can extremely limit the amount of fat you add on while building muscle.
