"Thanks Chavis" from Hunter: This is what Hunter had to say: "It was an honor being coached by such a magnificent coordinator. He put every player on the field in the best position to be successful."
Many felt he could have been convinced to stay if Chavis had not left over his long contract dispute with Alleva.
DE Danielle Hunter's 25-yard fumble return for a touchdown was the first defensive touchdown for LSU since S Craig Loston returned an interception 100 yards for a score vs. Mississippi State in 2012.
LSU had at least 15 defensive touchdowns under DC John Chavis. The last time LSU returned a fumble for a touchdown was Tyrann Mathieu with a 23-yard score versus Kentucky on Oct. 1, 2011. One that was left off the list was TM7's forced fumble return against ORE in the 2011 season opener.

Hunter was a good player for us, but I don't see how he has a future in the NFL. While he has great burst, he doesn't anticipate the snap very well at all. Biggest reason he couldn't sack the qb was that the ball was snapped and the OT already in his dropstep by the time Hunter started moving. NFL OT's will be even quicker and will provide a wall that he is unable to get around if he doesn't improve on this. He is very long though, so he should be able to continue knocking down passes at the LOS. He seems to work very hard, so hopefully he is able to stick wherever he lands.
