I'd like to hash out the commonly accepted truth that LSU consistently has "more talent than anyone in the country."
2005 - 10-2 SEC West Champions
2006 - 10-2 Lost SECW tiebreaker
2007 - 10-2 SEC Champions, National Champions
2011 - 12-0 SEC Champions, National Championship berth
Also in consideration: 2012

2010 was a pretty good team, poor qb play and young at some spots
2012 and 13 were close

This year is the first championship caliber roster since 12

Less than half of that list stayed at LSU for their senior year.

You are forgetting michael brockers. He left as a RS SO in 2011. Would have been RS SR in 2013 to go along w Montgomery and mingo
Basically our starting Dline in 2011 would have all been eligible in 2013 outside of Adams who technically started and rotated w mingo at DE
Only contributors we would have lost for 2013 from that entire 2011 D would have been hatcher, backer, Francois, brooks, Taylor, Claiborne, Edwards

Didn't want to get greedy and do a two-deep. Anthony Johnson also is not listed on the DL.

Gotcha. Just saying brockers would have started over ferguson

Dietzel had 3 teams that could have won the NC but only won it in 1958. The 1959 Team was as loaded and 1961 which actually LSU could claim as a NC but does not.

How many championship rosters did other teams have during that timespan? USC, bama, Florida etc. Takes a lot of luck to win a nc.

Those 5.
Silly think is the 07 team got the trophy, and probably is the least talented of all 5 of those.

Out of curiosity, what part of the 2010 offense and 2013 defense says "Championship" to you?

what you been smoking this morning. Bama has more and deeper talent across the board year in year out than anyone else and it's not even close. While we might put as many in the NFL thanks to better development of our players, our talent is more scattered and not nearly as deep. They have 3rd teamers who would start and star on most SEC teams.

In 2010 our only two losses could have very easily gone either way and were 12-0.
In 2013 the only lopsided loss was Bama and that was really a close game through the 3rd. Some really bad breaks screwed us over in that game. The one year we don't have a dominant defense in the last 4.

I think we're looking at this differently. I was moreso referring to teams that pass the "eyeball test" for being championship caliber.
You're not wrong for including '10 from an on-field production standpoint.
