It doesn't matter what you sell if you are the best. I'm working on a project at a distributor where the top guys are making over 500k selling cardboard boxes, labels andJan/San/office supplies.

Agreed..but upward mobility(not to be cliche) can often be capped, although I am technically not capped although I have a base+comm.

It's time for the next thing, just wondering what y'all thought

Yep. I worked in timeshare for a while and the best were making $500k and some making more. If you were really good, you'd make $150-200k, which I did. Sales is where you can make the most money w/o a degree if you're good. Although I did get a BFA for film/television , but that is still a valuable tool for me. Sales is not for the faint of heart though if you're on 100% commission which I have been for the last 10+ years in 2 different sales professions. But now I'm 1099, make my own schedule, and am making the most $ I ever have. I love it.
