Yeah, I would think so. Makes sense... until something like this happens.

There may be no perfect system, but I expect they will look to tweak the current one.

I would hope they're constantly looking at improvements/ scenarios. Like someone said earlier, I think its protocol to always have two people in the cockpit. If a pilot needs to go to bathroom, then a flight attendant sits in until he returns. (sounds plausible, not sure if that's accurate or not though)
