Not really sure where. I'd like to the do the overnight charter if and when I can plan it.
ETA: as far as the beaches go, I was told that it was shut down for a bit after oil spill but is back open to the public

Look into staying on the Pelican, take your own boat and just use the accommodations.
I have never seen where the post spill ban was lifted. I will ask someone who would know this week.
Where I would launch from greatly depends on your boat.
