Travel baseball is killing the game. Just a heads up. Kids have no idea how to actually play baseball when they get to the upper levels.

This is what I was hoping for in this thread.

It's the truth. Reasons why travel baseball is killing the game.

- Kids don't understand the fundamentals of the game. They just go play. They don't know how to bunt, hit a cutoff man, fly ball priority, etc. When a ball goes in the outfield, every team just tries to get it into the infield ASAP, with no regard or intention to where the ball is going.
- It is killing arms. Arms have no rest time. Arms used be used from Febuary through July then it would have a few months off until late Oct, November with light work to get ready for Febuary. Now arms are throwing 12 months and causes arm problems and weak arms when they get to the high school levels. I can tell that the average pitchers doesn't have near the velocity that they did just 6-8 years ago.
- Being average is ok. You strike it , it's ok, you get 17 more at bats that day. Guess what, striking out and making and error aren't ok. Are they going to happen? Yes. But they are not ok and kids shouldn't be told it is ok. Also you get put out of a tournament you still go to Buffalo Wild Wings and hang out with your friends whether you won or not. Losing has no consequence. Average is ok. It's all bullshite.
