High Jew Elf

Pitching:

Actually not too bad of a staff for Jew Elf depending on Tanaka's health. He has a lot of young fire that could compete week to week if all goes right.

Hitting:

Jew has some nice hitters, but a lot of them are young. I cant count on them this season, but they should be good in the years to come. He will be sneaky some weeks, though.

Season Prediction: Pretender
--------------------

Drunken Clams

Pitching:

Clams sports a deep, solid staff top to bottom. He goes 5 strong with a few SP bullets on the bench. Two closers who should rack up saves and Ks with a possible 3rd. If he manages his staff correctly, he will be tough to beat here.

Hitting:

Nice "Big 3" with Cutch, Jones, and Prince. Santana is solid as they come and is C eli. People are raving about Rusney, so that's good. Not totally buying on him just yet. Leonys Martin is my sleeper hitter this year. Dont know if Arismendy will get enough PT to be viable, but we will see. All in all, Clams has all the cats covered on his team. He will be tough.

Season Prediction: Contender

--------------------

Lou T

Pitching:

Wood, Carasco, Cole are a nice trio, with Teheran as a Sp4 for me. I will take it. Not too flashy, but can get the job done along with 2 guys who will get saves. Depth is shaky, though.

Hitting:

Couldve probably went 5 balls on Lou, but he is probably right up there with the other top hitting clubs. Solid from top to bottom with no holes other than SB. If Puig and Soler can break out, then look out. He could have 5 or 6 top 5 players.

Season Prediction: Contender
-------------------

cwill

Pitching:

Another team with 3 solid starters and 2 ho hum closers. Should compete week to week. Like Arrieta a lot of a SP3, and King and Zimmerman should do their thangs. He has some vets to add depth but not much upside there.

Hitting:

Decent, well balanced lineup. Stanton is the stud here, and Mesoraco could be the top player at his position. Desmond, Freeman, and Machado all could be top 5. Can Heyward breakout in STL? His lineup could teter both ways depending on what Heyward decides to do.

Season Prediction: Meh

Big Redd Machine

Pitching:

If I had an ace to go with these SP2s and SP3s, then I would feel a whole lot better. His 5 starters are all literally "which guy are you going to get this season" type pitchers. Even still, should be enough to compete most weeks. Not much coming from the pen other than Street. Reminds me of rondo's team a bit.

Hitting:

A lot of veteran hitters on Redd's team except for D"Arnaud and Rizzo. With age, health always becomes an issue. We will just assume all are healthy. Beltre is the only hitter who has shown some regression, and even still, he was good. Position flexibility worries me with 3 key hitters all being 1B. VMart and Ellsbury already nicked. Regression and injury aside, this team should be able to swing it week after week.

Season Prediction: Contender

The Rick

Pitching:

Having 3 closers bumped rick to 3 balls. Darvish going down is killer, but he still has Greinke, Iwakuma, and Ryu. Solid enough, probably wouldve gotten 4 balls with a healthy darvish. Kimbrel is top tier, and McGee could be sneaky good. Other than that, his pitching is mediocre.

Hitting:

Needs bounce backs from Kipnis, Wright, Choo, Davis and Rosario. This team wouldve looked like the T-skins if this were last offseason. Betts, idk, Ortiz is old AF but still swinging, and Duda could get him 30. Werth already hurt. These hitters are all over the place. Could go well, or could crash and burn,

Season Prediction: Meh

-------------------

Goodfellas

Pitching:

I see Kluber as the only real sure thing here, especially with Cobb and his new found forearm tightness. A lot of upside guys, though. Just can't bump him up until Bauer, Hutchinson, Greene take that step. Stroman going down hurts and if Cobb ends up being worse than we thought, all bets are off. Closer situation will be one to monitor here as Feliz has sucked the past few years. Giles will be a stud if he gets that job, and Cishek is solid as hell.

Hitting:

I'll go 3 balls here for the upside, namely Yelich, Polanco, and Baez. What will they bring this season? Goldy, Rendon, and Dickerson are 3 studs to build around. Altuve, sure, if you like that kind of thing. Crawford and Kendry Morales would be nice to have 5 years ago. Earl's team is built on breakouts, both hitting and pitching. He could have a nice year or be towards the bottom.

Season Prediction: Meh

--------------------

Cajun Sox

Pitching:

Gausman and Martinez could be studs, but at this point, they are question marks. Hughes needs to prove he's here to stay, and Burnett and Anibal need to prove they arent regressing like they showed last season. Just too many question marks for me to get behind this staff.

Hitting:

Hitting is a little bit better here. Tulo can carry an offense when healthy. Carter flashed that 40 HR potential. Marte, Calhoun, and Blackmon all provide numbers across the 5 cats. Some upside with Adams, Gyorko and Boegarts. Not a bad offense at all.

Season Prediction: Pretender

-------------------

Barry

Pitching:

Not crazy about the starters, but a decent bullpen bumped you up to 3 balls. 3 spots for 2 closers and David/Miller, though. Could be a problem. Starting pitching leaves a lot to be desired outside of Hamels and Lynn. Smyly could be good, but I want to see it first. Some nice MiLB arms but they probably wont contribute this season.

Hitting:

Grats, you will win steals every week going away. Team should have nice balance on O if Bryant and Tomas are what people think. 4 3B is worrisome, espcially with nowhere to put Arenado and Tomas. A few trades and your lineup could sit nicely. Im going back and forth with Meh or Contender, for now I will say...

That's a pretty spot-on analysis for my team, giraffe, with the exception of Cecil being the closer in Toronto now.
