DollaChoppa, since you follow NC State, and we know very little about NC State, how do you see this playing out, coin toss?

I lean towards state winning due to experience playing good teams and experience in the tournament (mostly coaching). I dont have much faith in CJJ as a coach. Even though both teams are extremely inconsistent, State feels more reliable to me.

I cant get that auburn game out of my head man....

LSU has been consistently good against good teams....

6-1 vs tournament teams

NC State is only 3-8 versus the NCAA tournament field.

Thats a really misleading comparison because you are grouping all tourney teams. States schedule was much top heavier than LSUs.

Virginia x 2
UNC x 2
Ville x 1
Duke x 2
Notre Dame x 1

The only game LSU has on that level is Kentucky, maybe WVU, but all those teams mentioned are better than WVU. I mean what do you think LSUs record would be in those 8 games? Not very good.

Fair enough. I agree NCSU has played more top talent. Still, I think LSU has played much better basketball against better teams.

NC State has been playing really good basketball lately, and I think NC State could easily win this game. It's a toss up.

So we Rotate 4 bigs.

We start with Abu listed 6'8 but grew midway this is and is probably closer to 6'9.5 now. 250 and still grow. Freshman with amazing potential on both sides of the ball. He's a Freak athletically and when focus can hit midranged and post shots, boards at a good rate, and defends well but not great. Fouls at a pretty terrible clip though

Then we have lennard freeman sophomore. 6'8" 260 youngest on the team at 19 (skipped his last year of HS to join the team last year at 17). He Boards. and at a Very good rate. Defends wells. Screens well. Hustles.. and that's it.

Oddly enough our two most impactful Bigs come off the bench.

Kyle Washington listed 6'9" Closer to 6'10, 245. Our most offensively talented big and a decent weak side blocker. Great mid-range and can even hit the three if he's in rhythm and open. Not great on the boards or offensively.

Anya. 6'9 with a 7'9" wingspan. 290 pounds. GREAT blocker. Decent rebounder, if we get the pick and roll running he's hard to stop bout offensively he's limited.

Also to the guy asking about our back ups : hahahahahahaha what are those?

We have two brothers, twins,Caleb, and Cody martin. 6'7" wings that can handle but are definitely not guards.

We would have lost to Virginia twice but I think we would have won some of the other ones. UNC, Ville, ND are good matchups for us with the tempo they play. Okafor probably would have hung 30 on us haha

Yes, but if I am going to hang my hat on LSU playing Kentucky down to the wire as an LSU fan, I have to also mention that State took Notre Dame to overtime. State also took UVA and UNC both equally down to the wire as LSU did vs Kentucky. State has three better wins than LSUs best win: Duke, @UNC, @ Ville.

I just cant buy that argument that LSU plays top teams any better than state.

If LSU played 8 games against top 15 teams, I feel pretty confident saying one wouldve been a blowout like State vs Duke in the tournament (they were out for revenge).

thank you. i'm familiar with LSU somewhat. My family if from the area (kinda, Dallas, Houston, Marshall going into Shreveport and the surrounding areas) and my cousin did a semester at LSU before returning to Dallas. I've also been big fans of Martin and Mickey Since HS and glad we drew you this year and instead of Next.. (no thank you Simmons and Blakeney)

Legit analysis.

This is my simple take.

LSU is less consistent and lacks experience and is therefore more likely that NC State to screw up.

However, if LSU actually plays well, NC State will not be able to hang with them.

Louisville hasnt been the same without Chris Jones. I think @WVU was just as impressive as @Ville, but I do agree that NCSU has better wins than LSU.

Agree, but we played them with chris jones. Dude played the entire game. Which is why I think that win was better than LSU @ WVU

Eta: Also I wish I knew more about Mickey's injury. I know Cat should be ok to go.

Yea Mickey will play, but how good will he be? Certainly something to keep an eye on.

Word, but imo this pack team in 2015 is playing much differently than 2014. Especially the past month or so. Barely any washington, more abu and abya. Twins with experience. Barber playing his best ball. So yea, im not really hung up on comparing LSU and NCSU with how they played vs WVU 3 months ago
