2 phones.

1 company, one personal.

Turn the company one off when you leave the office.

I've been in sales over 20 years. Either as a salesperson or a sales manager. A few years back I burned out. I used to leave my cell phone on 24/7. Go on vacation and the cell phone would be with me. Weekends, after 6, before 7, kids functions, dr's appointment etc. Then I decided to shut that b off. Best thing I ever did. Not only for me, but for my family as well. Telling the kids at Disneyworld, "hang on, daddy has to make a call" really takes the fun out of it. I have a great customer service dept. that I can fall back on so that helps tremendously, but I shut the phone off at 6 p and leave it off till 7a. I give the same advice to my sales reps.

I hope all you people in sales think that six figures is worth stroking every customer's metaphorical pecker. "Oh, but, I'm just doing what's best for my family...Oh, I'm just trying to get my kids through college..." I call bullshite. I think 90% of you are really, deep down inside, in it for the perks, for the suave automobile, for the high dollar toys, and justify it all in your heads by having enough aside for the kids to go through college. I've got 2 figures for that kind of sell-out job "righchya"!! As long as teachers and lower-tier healthcare workers' income continues to reflect their status as a non-priority in this country, you sons of bitches don't deserve what a hooker makes to do the same thing y'all do. And no, I am not a teacher or healthcare worker (or a hooker). I'm a truck driver who lives within his means after turning down a few of y'all high dollar jobs (I'm talking to you too, operators with y'all 2015 4x4s "looking out for number one".STFU and do something to support someone in need.) P.S: to the OP-- I hope things get better for you and you can disconnect. I suggest going visit your local nursing home for an uplifting experience.

I've never thought about going into sales, it seems like too much of a grind. I guess I've convinced myself that work isn't about money. Doing what makes you happy, what interests you intellectually, seems much easier if both of those are money. I should probably value money more...come to think of it, I've never sold anything as part of a job. Nothing.
