That whole thing is weird. Chavis getting pissed when Les should be getting pissed because he may be terminated before the end of Chavis contract. Chavis insisting he stays if Les is terminated when the time frame would be short.

I don't think there are plans in place fire anyone, but I do believe Miles plans to retire after the 2016 season, and I've belived it since it first surfaced that Chavis balked at the clause. I think every assistant has a contract that ends after the 2016 season (perhaps not Cam, but the others). Chavis was offered an extension through 2016 with the Miles clause or an extension through 2017 without the clause, I think. He wanted the guarantee through 2017, because he believes Miles is leaving before then.
That's what I've thought from the outset from all this. Certainly, I could be wrong, but that's the way I saw it in my feeble mind.
