Great trip. I have been there several times including last Easter. Go to the Vatican. Spend time admiring the artwork in St. Peter's. If you don't take a tour, you can rent an audioguide. We went all the way to the top of the cupola where there is a panoramic view of the city. The Sistine Chapel is axcessed through the Vatican museums. Spend time at the forum ,coliseum and other ancient sites, many of which are in the same area. Spend time just walking the streets. It is a beautiful city. Go to the squares and fountains. Piazza Navona with Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, the Pantheon, and Campo di Fiore are within a few blocks of each other. We like to stay in this area. There are many excellent restaurants around there. Not far away is the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. They may be touristy, but hey, you are a tourist. You thanked people for the great ideas right after someone advised you to carve your name into the Coliseum. That was a funny line but it was made because two American girls were criminally charged for doing that yesterday.
