GI md here. Mda is where I would go. You want a surgeon who only does pancreatic surgeries (like whipple). But the other thing that's important is the location of tumor in pancreas is it in the head, body, or tail? Makes a difference in the surgical procedure needed. Having said that, I'm sure ochsner has someone who can do the surgery but I doubt they doubt they do 1/4 of the amount they do at mda.

Mass is in the head. Deemed stage T3, if cancerous.

Thanks for everyone's advice and prayers. I'll meet with my parents in the morning and discuss pursuing some advice by MDA. Maybe we will get biopsy results tomorrow also.

I guess I'll find out soon enough if their insurance will cover review/treatment from MDA also.
