When the parents left Louisiana for better jobs.
Whoever said that Louisiana school tuition is cheaper than Texas doesn't know what they are talking about.
Out of state tuition at LSU is greater than three times a Texas state school tuition.

Is this true? I know Texas schools charge a lot of "additional fees" beyond what they classify as tuition. So you end up paying way more than the published tuition. I know anecdotally a lot of our friends here in Dallas have looked at LSU for their kids because its competitive on costs with Texas schools.
