Lsu needs to take the high road on this one and let it go
The problem is that Chavis seemed to have accepted the job prior to the bowl game when all the news broke, had he waited to have discussions after the bowl game or done his due diligence he wouldn't be in this situation.
Had he got off his butt and earned the money he was being paid and recruited he wouldn't be in this mess. Wait till he has to coach defense when his coach will refuse to slow things down.

On what planet would not holding people responsible for their contractual LDs be the right move? The next time it comes up you know the next person would point to LSU giving up its rights (pointlessly, in this case) against Chavis. All letting it go does is make a mess out of this issue and the next ones.

NO

frickING

WAY!

It is a contract. There is no "high road" other than living by the terms of the contract, period.

I've explained why it was filed. ATM will act like they are fighting, but pay it in the end.

This is an individual leaving one employer to go to another employer, yet he wants one of them to be responsible for his classless actions.

frick that bitch! He wouldn't have named aTm at all if he thought he could win against LSU. His lawyers know, they are smart and contract is clear. When he got on that plane to Texas instead of riding with Lsu, he fricked himself.

I love it

Frick that. Chief sued LSU. LSU needs to tack on attorney's fees and costs to the $400k now (which I'm assuming are available in this dec action-type situation). I'm sure aTm will love having to fork over even more than the original $400k. Nice work chief.

ETA: I'm sure there is an attorney fee provision in the contract. Chief

Not just no, but hell no. I'd fight this fat piece of crap as far as I could take it.

And I'm confident LSU will win, even if it takes a third court ruling. We all know what happens on third-and-Chavis.
