I have a few that are close, the first for the actual concert and the second and third for the overall experience.

1. Worked in music during college and had an early promo for this band. Thought they were pretty awesome, and I got some tickets from a rep to see them at the Municipal Auditorium. They were the opening act of a three band set. My buddies wanted to get drunk in the parking lot and skip the opening act because "the opening act usually sucks anyway". Said no f'ing way, these guys are good.

The headliner was RHCP and they played damn near their entire catalog, they even played Yertle the Turtle! Second act was Smashing Pumpkins and they were ok. Not one of their better performances, but still really good.

Opening act was Pearl Jam.

2. Jimmy Buffett at Tad Gormley. Great show, kind of a festival and a wierd mix of artists. Michael McDonald and Little Richard were part of the line up. I'm a Parrothead, so seeing JB is always great, but for this one we actually sailed from Mandeville to Pontchartrain YC and then had amazing sex on the boat all night after the show. Sailed home the next day.

3. Another JB show. Got a tip that Jimmy would be playing an unannounced gig at Margaritaville before Jazz Fest. Figured out the night that we thought it would be; guessed right. They stopped admitting people before he came on, so there were no more than 120 people or so and he played an awesome set. Was able to just go to the bar, grab a drink, walk back to the stage and make song requests with my favorite artist of all time.
