That $12.5 million roster bonus will get converted into a signing bonus like it was always designed to do.

As of now, this is his cap hit each year:

2014: 2.95
2015: 15.4
2016: 5.8
2017: 6.5
2018: 8.2
2019: 8.4

Now, with the $12.5 million roster bonus converted into a signing bonus:

2015: $5.45 million
2016: $8.3
2017: $9
2018: $10.7
2019: $10.9

So an average of $8.87/year. Not even close to $14/year

His contract is good for both him and the Saints. It would be cap suicide to cut him at this point.
