I hope this finally means we can let the Shea Patterson obsession around here die. But I doubt it. I'm sure someone will post every article when he does well at a camp and someone will post weekly stats during the season. Nature of the beast I suppose

I haven't seen anyone saying they think the kid isn't a good prospect, in fact most will tell you he's a very good prospect but the fact is Cameron picked his guy and got him. In the end that was the difference. Just looking at Shea's comments today it's clear he wanted to be the man in his class and he got that at OM. It had to be something most knew could be the case all along. Its hard to reel in 2 alphas at QB in the same class. In fact , not only is he the man of his class, he's the man period. They have nothing ahead of him. He picked the school that gives him the best opportunity to play right away. Can't hate the kid for that. The brother part, while a factor for sure no matter how much those close say it wasn't or isn't, doesn't have to be mentioned at all. He chose the place that is the easiest to navigate the depth chart. From everything I've gathered, his preference, all things being even, is USC but they have a loaded depth chart and the distance played some factor. OM is empty at QB and he can step right in and start if he's as good as they say. Good decision for him.

This idea that we didn't attempt to get him is asinine. We told him we wanted him and tried to get him but he chose somewhere else. Its not on the staff. Only fault that can be given to the staff is that they didn't allow themselves to be extorted by the brother. I give them kudos for that
