Your correct about the writers and artist to a great degree. But you have to have an editor in chief that keeps it all tight. Take Jim Shooter for example. Back in the 70s Marvel was in disarray because (one of the reasons) the writers and artist weren't kept in check, allowed to write what they wanted and take their time with it. So major deadlines were being missed which caused distribution problems and really sucky stories. Jim Shooter steps in and runs with a firm hand and grasp of every aspect of the process. As a result, Marvel had one of the best periods in their history. The writers and artists didn't like Shooter because he was strict, but it had to be done. Same type of thing happened to them in the late 80's early 90's.
Same here dude. I'm like another freaking reboot??

This is something that DC has been suffering from too much over the last 7 years
but at the same time... the artwork and stories of the New 52 are absolutely incredible. Yes, they end up losing some of their staff because the staff feels like they aren't free to be "creative" - but when you are as big as DC, you can't be as creative or the whole thing feels completely out of control and you get this:

Gah... I wish I had more time to discuss this today because I just don't agree. I mentioned this recently in another thread. There are some good books at DC right now but, IMO, by and large the New 52 has turned into garbage. There was a lot of potential at day one of the reboot.
And it appears to be a result of too much editorial interference and a lack of commitment to a plan. It didn't start with the New 52 though. Go back to the Countdown to Crisis weekly series from years back. It was so God awful that Didio actually apologized and admitted the faults. Yet they didn't fix many of them.

eh.. I just got to 2013 (been on "catchup" lately) and the new Death in the Family was incredible... and Wonder Woman and Superman are a power couple... iono, it just seems awesome
but then again I'm probably way less picky than you, so who knows...
