He lists himself at 6'0" and 205 on hudl. Like I said earlier I am not sayin he should be LSU #1 recruit but he ought to make the states top 50 hands down. I hope this kid embarrasses the shite out of these recruiting gurus.

This list is a college prospect list not a top high school player list. I love LSJ's game, but it's not fair to anyone if I put him on this list. Each guy ahead of him on this list will obtain bigger offers than him. Sad but true.

Jay Tyler at Newman had zero offers on the table until Stanford came in late January to pull the trigger as a slot receiver. His numbers dwarfed Lindsey's best year. I've been fighting with colleges about LSJ longer than anyone so I take it personal when you act as if him not being on my list is a disservice to the kid. When someone calls as many schools as I have for the kid then they can complain.

I talked to one of his teammates and allegedly Mizzou has been looking at him. Problem with him is he has no seed offers. What D1 school wants to be the only offer posted? Makes the gurus question your judgement...

@InTheDetails - I respect your passion, and there is no doubt that you are a good guy. But you (NOLA) are the author of the list. Surely you didn't publish the article here expecting everyone to agree with it. Surely you knew that much discussion was going to be about players that were not listed. You shouldn't be offended at all.

As the author of the list (NOLA), its clear that when you click on the links, theres nothing on Nola sites that explains what Nifty-50 means. All it says is:

"The class of 2016 is shaping up to be one of the most memorable in the state's history. There is a plethora of talent at most of the valued positions making for an extensive pool of talent for colleges to choose from."

The site says nothing about the "size of offers". The inference is, that you compiled a list of the 50 best players in the state, not the "50 players that will get the 'best' offers".

I'm sure LSJ would appreciate all the calls that you've made. But aren't you working against those efforts, if you're making calls for him on one hand, but sending message through your rankings that he didn't quite make the cut? Aren't the schools you're calling reading NOLA too?

You're free to make your list based on any criteria you choose. But if in actual publication, you don't clarify what you meant, then no one knows. Maybe it should read NOLAs Top Offer List, instead of "Nifty-50".

Jay Tyler at 5'6 - 5'7 was in fact one of the most dynamic players to come through in years. The fact that colleges might shy on him, didn't change the fact that he was a bona fide FBS prospect. It would have been nice to have seen the local papers take the same chance on Jay Tyler as Stanford did.
