The ones I waited to plant catch the early planted ones. They just don't hardly move/grow even if they survive.

Same here. Plants that get planted early seem to get stunned and just sorta sit there. Now I just wait until around the first of April to plant. On the contrary I have a friend who plants some in elevated boxes and he usually starts getting ripe tomatoes two to three weeks before mine that are planted in the ground.
