In SEC play he has finished no better than .500 and is well on his way to equaling that mark again this year

I think equalling that mark this year is going to be very difficult.

We're 5-4 right now at the halfway point of the SEC schedule.

Here are the SEC records of the teams we've played so far:

5 wins:
Georgia 5-4
Florida 5-4
Ole Miss 6-3
Vanderbilt 2-7
South Carolina 2-7
Total: 20-25

4 losses:
Missouri 1-8
Texas A&M 6-3
Miss. St. 4-5
Auburn 3-6
Total: 14-22

Combined total: 34-47

Here are the SEC records of the teams we have left to play:

Alabama 4-5
Kentucky 9-0
Tennessee 5-4
Texas A&M 6-3
Florida 5-4
Auburn 3-6
Ole Miss 6-3
Tennessee 5-4
Arkansas 6-3

Total: 49-32

If we can only manage to go 5-4 against teams that have combined to go 34-47, I really don't see how we can expect to go 4-5 against teams that are a combined 49-32. It might happen, but it seems unlikely. It's very hard to find four reasonably expectable wins in that list of games remaining.

Good news is we play better on the road than at home. Can you blame the team the Pmac is a fricking morgue these days.

I agree 100%. That said, there is no doubt in my mind that Jones will find a way to get LSU to the Ark game with a 9-8 SEC record only to get smashed in the finale to finish 9-9. Why am I confident? Because that is EXACTLY what has unfolded in years 1 and 2
