We took like 63 over the past 3 years and only lost 3 this year.

I count 14 LBs from 2014 (including walkons) and we only lost walkon O'Brien and the embattled D.J. Welter to graduation and Kwon Alexander to the NFL.

Having said that, it looks like 5 senior LBers on 2015's squad, and Beckwith would be a possible junior draft casualty. So, 2016 would, necessarily, be another huge LBer class - upwards of 4 or 5.

The way this recruiting cycle played out, the strategy was to only go after elite LBs, and not overcrowd the position due to the strong talent in 2016.

I don't understand why this is hard to understand for folks. You can disagree with the strategy, but people act as if we couldn't get a bunch of LBs, we could, but then we must pass on LBs that could make immediate impacts.

I can hear it now, we take 3 this year, have no room for studs next year that go to other SEC schools and they bitch for 3 years about how we let em get away.

McGinness appreciation post. Too bad we didn't send a last minute offer but there is a reason for everything. Hope he beasts it at OU

The last minute or so of the video might hurt some people.

If they thought it was that urgent a need they would have offered Arthur McGinnis. Obviously they like the 2016 prospects better. Still wish they would have found room for McGinnis though.

Going to be a huge concern after next season when we do not have enough LBs on the team to run a 4 - 3, let alone a 3 - 4.

LSU will take four of these guys. Three OLBs, and one ILB.

This is my concern. It's not this year, it's 2016. I understand the state is stacked with talent next year, but a bunch of true freshman at line backer is likely to be less than ideal. I guess no point in harping on it, but I think it will be looked back upon and regretted.

Fill us in!

Louisiana is stacked, but not with LB's. There is a couple. But I not aware of any 4-5 star recruits.

Edited: I see Michael Divinity has moved up a while back to 4 star.
