As a former Ranger, I do not support this video or the assault that took place. Lies in a bar are not stolen valor they are lies in a bar. As such I believe while distasteful, lies of this type are speech protected by the 1st Amendment. Someone claiming service to defraud or gain compensation is stolen valor.

I guess I am not as bothered by the whole stolen valor deal as I am hearing how every numb nut whoever served is either a seal, a ranger or special forces. Those people make me madder than the ones who didn't serve and lie about it for some reason. None of it is worth getting your blood up though.

Never a Batt boy but I have a tab and lets be honest its time for the grownups to put some policy out on how you interact with someone you suspect of stolen valor, whatever that is. These videos are in no way helpful to the services.

I've gotten laid at the Gold Mine and Fred's over a handful of times claiming to be an LSU baseball player.... It's always just a good laugh when I've mentioned it to people.
