Not a lawyer, but if I was just graduating law school, I would look hard at joining the FBI. Interesting, important work, and you get to retire after 20 years on a great pension. GF's brother is one, and he's been on a dive team, worked security for a Super Bowl, and is now stationed at a US embassy in a foreign country.

And if you're interested in that gig, DSS all the way as another option. They love lawyers too.
