The star system started in 2002 and since then there has 262 recruits given 5* status by Rivals. The most in any one class was 38, in 2002 and as few as 25, in 2003 and 2004.

Of those 262, 116 have been drafted (44.3%) and 42 of them in the first round (16%).

FBS schools sign about 2,500 players ever year and MAYBE 30 are 5* recruits, which makes a bit more than 1% of players signed every February 5* recruits.

I'd assume the 44.3% of 5* that have been drafted is much higher than any other caliber.

These two teams aren't really the norm when it comes to drafting. NE trades a lot of their picks and always picks late in the draft. Seattle has just drafted well overall and has hit huge with late round picks in Sherman and Chancellor.
