XBMC- Xbox Media Center. Used to be mainly on the original Xbox, but it grew from there and now is available to be installed on Windows PC's, some Droids, Macs, iPhones with Jailbreak I believe.
However, it is best used on a streaming device such as AppleTV ( Has to be 2nd Gen & Jailbroken), or FireTV. You can then install Add-on's to it. Such as Icefilms, crackle, projectfreetv, and my most favorite Navi-X.
Navi-X is where the real content is. Basically lots of people have servers set up and allow people to access their streams.

For xbmc or Kodi the top addons for movies in theaters live tv and tv shows are istream, genesis, phoenix, icefilms, channel 1, and movie 25. Once u have these u are set to go
