Let's change the hypothetical a bit: Say the guy is traveling on business and has access to an open line of credit. Gets drunk and blows through $500k of company funds at the craps table. His (now former) employer clearly isn't going to get any money out of him. Do they have a claim against the casino?

If they were foolish enough to put this individual in charge of access to the account, it's on them. And it's on him to give the funds back or go to jail or both. Probably seizing his assets.

Our old governor was a fan of taking money that wasn't his and heading to casinos.
