Best way to "mark" your devices.

It dawned on me today that I have a tidy little sum tied up in portable equipment and if I misplace an item, I'm SOL because they're all unmarked. I'd like to permanently label them with my name and tel number. What are some of the best ways to accomplish this? T.I.A.

A dremel tool with the smallest drill bit. scribble name & # on the back, under, whatever side.
