Not kidding and didn't know this until he told me at a book signing last year...
Dale Brown worked with Skip and kept Ben on his basketball scholarship (full) even after moving over to baseball. Was a pretty slick way to keep him on a full ride and not steal from the few scholarships that baseball is/was allowed.
Not sure if Lyle Mouton got the same deal but I doubt it. Should have asked.
