My dad (Korea vet) was like this. No CIB, he didn't wanna hear from them.

My dads Vietnam combat patch was 173d Airborne but he was there when it wasn't politically popular. He was a LRRP and saw some shite in 2 tours. He stayed active duty for 28 years. He told me he was spit on by some hippies in San Francisco when he came back home in 1970. Take it fwiw.
