Dude, you said you wanted to get rid of the Upvote/downvote function on the rant when players and coaches are being discussed.

That implies you also want to get rid of a plethora of upvotes for a slam dunk LSU recruit like in this thread. LINK

The injured player thread that you reference is unfortunate but unavoidable and the actions of a few stupid people but in my opinion not enough to make any changes to it much less actually getting rid of it. Other websites have this problem and they haven't changed it and they're doing just fine.

quote:

useless downvote

If the downvote was really useless to you, this thread wouldn't exist.

Trust me. They're useful for idiotic trolls like this and this.

OK, I briefly looked at both of the threads in your last post. Seeing the massive amount of downvotes in each thread, what purpose do they serve? Did the post get whacked or anything? Or does the enormous downvote just supposed to discourage the next reader from forming their own opinion?

I guess my complaint lies in the fact that TD has a wide membership outside of LSU fans and the downvotes about recruits can too easily be abused by fans from schools that would prefer to see LSU have a bad reputation for talking about players. One would hope that players don't give any credit to troll posts on a fan message board, but we also know that from time to time, the media has quoted stuff from TD. It just seems like the Downvote function should be eliminated or regulated better when talking about players or coaches.

There endeth my rant.
