re: Help locating a part

There's no guarantee the replacement part will work. I don't care what they say; all these places pull them from dead TVs and put them up for sale without testing. If your part is a common failure mode for your TV, you might go through a bunch before finding a good one. Some of these places are real scummy and have many aliases, but shopjimmy is one of the better ones and will accept returns and even pay return shipping if you can convince them the replacement part was bad.

About finding the right part, it's best to match TV model number and serial number to a parts list for that serial number range. You may be able to get the part number off the board, but it may not be specific enough. For example, google /shopjimmy sony tcon serial number/, and you'll find things like this:
