It's a pretty good deal for the Astros in my opinion. Dexter Fowler is a good hitter with a good OBP, but he gets injured way too often, his defense is mediocre, and he wasn't going to be an Astro after this year so might as well get some value for him. Luis Valbuena can and should end up starting at 3B since Matt Dominguez is not very good, and Dan Straily should be able to crack the starting rotation immediately. Valbuena and Straily both have great potential and if they play up to it, it will be a great deal for us.

Astros got great value in this deal. Can't believe anyone is saying otherwise.
Cubs probably paid a tad higher price than value, but it's worth it when you are upgrading a major hole from positions of depth. And most importantly, not having to trade a prospect.
Almora is the CF of the future. This gets us another year closer to him and allows us to compete in 2015.
