Lee was absolutely dreadful in 2009
Jefferson was ridiculously bad in 2010
And both were much better in 2011.

Lee only got better on his own. He saw literally no playing time in '09, and came off the bench in '10 to salvage 3 games. All the while JJ continued getting the reps with the 1s, and starting every game. JL had all of 2 weeks practice, to prepare for '11
Translation: the talent was always there, Les didnt know how to use it
As for JJ; Here are his 1st two starts as a true freshman, and his last two starts as a senior (and both years included bowl games)
2008
Arky 9-21-0 42.9% 143 yds 2 tds 131.49 rat
Ga Tech 16-25-0 64.0% 142 yds 1 td 124.91 rat
2011
Georgia 5-13-0 38.5% 30 yds 1 td 83.23 rat
Alabama 11-17-1 64.7% 53 yds 0 td 79.13 rat
That in no way, shape, or form is remotely called improvement
