Kindle Fire HD Kids also comes with a 2 year replacement warranty, no questions asked. My 2 kids both got one of these and play it all the time.

My daughter plays on my first gen Kindle Fire and my wife's ipad Mini. For some reason she prefers the Kindle. Maybe because we've had it longer, and she knows how to run it. Maybe because my wife doesn't have a bunch of apps on the ipad. And my daughter also has an older iphone 4S of ours that she takes to school for their Bring Your Own Device technology learning program. I've thought about getting a new Fire and letting her have my old one for that. It seems to be durable enough for a 7 year old to handle and not break. If you're looking to get something new, get the Kindle Fire kids version.
