Yeah, they are too close to the passing lanes on whatever side they are installed. Their proximity to traffic means that they spray debris all over the road during minor accidents which may not even have involved a crossover.

I think concrete or metal barriers may have been a better choice if mounted farther from the actual road. At least they still seem to work after minor glancing accidents.
