This. Yes - there was the quibbling about money, but Chavis is no fool. He sees a program in decline and wishes to no longer be associated with it. There is no more upside at LSU and no reasonable chance for another NC.

Miles is not to blame on this. Chavis felt betrayed by his true love, Tennessee. Miles gave him a home. They have great respect for each other. Chavis did not leave because of Miles.

I think there may be something to this. Chavis had played this scenario before with Fulmer at UT. He isn't getting any younger, and probably figured it was time to get out while the getting is good, instead of being let go like he was at Knoxville.
