80% of the bowl games are on ESPN you dumbass. Every team is getting national exposure. The majority of people living outside the Southwest have better things to watch/do tonight.
Plus ND is a team that's well known regardless of record. People will be watching just based on name alone.

Last week was the shortest work week of the year. This week's the second shortest. You think any football fan besides the team's is going to take off of work to watch a tail sliding Notre Dame team get skulldrug again?
